The purchase of a building!
The Board of Directors took
the great opportunity to purchase the building at 128 Gladys Street in September
of 2010, for $40,000. We are now in the process of renovating the building into
a health and safety centre. This centre will open a new path for MFWD to present
our programs throughout the year at the facility. We will still travel to
various communities and events, but with a greater strength of having a home
base. The facility can provide seminars, and workshops on agricultural needs of
the farmer. Local business and manufacturers can bring special speakers to the
centre to encourage a greater connection with the farmer. We can hold support
group meetings and social events to help injured and disabled farmers meet with
others going through the same experience. It will be the home for MFWD staff and
be a active people place!

The Building Campaign!
The Building Campaign has a
proposed budget of $288,000 and was passed by the members of MFWD at the Annual
General Meeting on March 26, 2011. This budget will cover expenses for all
electrical, heating and building renovations. Our hope is that funding will also
come in to pay off the mortgage. The Building Campaign is set up to receive
donations online or by mail.
